We had 4 seasons this year- wet,wetter,wettest, and drowned. And to think, the wet season is just starting.
You are so right about snow.
I do love the lushness though.

When you finish at Gritsy's house you can both head east. We desperately need it. DH is a paint foreman, he doesn't even want to paint at home. And I usually wear more paint than I get on the walls.

I do have deck envy, we have always wanted to build one but no moolah is always an issue. We do have a tiny brick patio but it needs resetting since the rain has made the bricks heave.

That deck is 14 yo, rotting a bit too. the last 4 years I replaced about 3 boards each year. Looking ahead probably about 6 next year. Before long I'll have to tear it out, then I'll replace with a flagstone patio. Tired of the annual maintenence.
