Got an old swing . Can i make a coop out of it.

I would use hardware cloth, no smaller than 1/4" to keep rodents out, other than that, go for it!

After seeing numerous coops on here, I have came to the conclusion that you can make a coop out of anything! Good Luck &

LOL Exactly! If you can make a bus in to a coop, why not a swing set? I am turning an old dog kennel in to a quail pen right now

Dear bahamas, i am very glad that you are interested in my swingset coop. It was very fun to make, and only took us a day.
Heres what ya do:

1. The first thing you need to do is to take all of the swings off. If there is a slide, detach it.
2. There should be bars going from one side of the swingset to the other. Lay a board of would down in between them.This will be the base of the house.
3. Lay two thinner boards on top. this will be the roof.
4. The boxes can be at the back of the house. Make sure you have a door to the boxes.
5. Put in roost where you want them.
6. Add wire, and youre done.

This is the house. You can see boxes in the back.

Pay attention to the blue closest to you. There is one of these on the other side in the same spot, and one kind of in the middle. The board will be layed across these. Look closely and you will see it.

Here is the whole thing. There are six hens in right now, but this coop could comfortibly hold 8-12 hens.
