Got my chicks

Picked up my chicks 2 Golden Com, 2 Isa Browns, 2 Asian Blacks. They are about 15 days old. What is the best way to keep the wood shavings out of the water.

I elevate the waterer on something like a brick or piece of wood to keep shavings out.

As stated by @N F C I always elevate the waterer on a brick or stacked cut pieces of wood, making stairs so to speak. Keep everything clean and dry.
