I got my chicks from Meyer today. All 5 arrived happy, hungry and healthy. Only 1 day in transit too! 4 of them look like the regular Americauna (or should I say EE's, most hatcheries say one and sell the other, right?) pics I have seen, but one is larger than the rest and very yellow. She seems to be the dunce of the lot too. She pecked at the wall of her breeder for 20 minutes, 2 inches from the food, while the others happily ate.

Could she be a different breed? Or do the chicks come in all different colors too? I wouldn't mind either way. I only really wanted 4, but I got an extra in case of shipping loss. Here are some pics!

Here is one of the 4. (My fave. I named her Camiile) Click for Big And Blurry.

Best of luck, hatcheries generally sell easter eggers (EE's) and they can be any color or combinations of colors, their only requirement was a colored egg, and sometimes they aren't always green. Good luck!

EEs can be any color. But you could always contact the hatchery and ask what their usual policy is. Sometimes they include what they call "males for warmth" in small orders - in others words, they toss in the excess roosters to serve as a living space heater! I would ask them if that is the case, especially if you live in an area where you can't have roosters.

I had an EE that was yellow as a chick and pure white after she feathered. She had the greenest legs I have ever seen. Very Beautiful Girl. Hopefully yours is a girl and just as pretty.

I ordered 5 Americauna pullets and I only got 5 chicks. I also told them that if they wanted to add any for warmth, please add only pullets as roos are illegal in my area. They stated that they wouldn't be adding any chicks at all. Guess I just got an oddball. My wife loves her the best, mostly because she has a habit of instantly falling asleep while standing.

I got 9 EEs from MM and two were very yellow while the others were brown chipmunks. One yellow one was large with darker yellow stripes, like the brown stripes on the others, and with puffy cheeks.

The other yellow one was super tiny and no puffy cheeks. I spent weeks on here trying to figure out what she was... I thought she was my "surprise" chick. But, when she grew up, she just turned out to be a small, delicate, pure-white EE with nice beard and muffs and a great layer. EEs are just so varied you never know. You probably just have a large, yellow EE! But you never know...

I agree- I got to pick mine out of a group of 100 that were all different colors.

I got one that was yellow with a few tiny wisps of black- like 5 hairs of black in different spots. She's now a gorgeous dalmatian EE who lays a lovely green egg.

I had a bluish one end up gold and blue, a chipmunk end up orange and brown and I have one that looks just like chocolate that was pure black as a chick.

It's impossible to know what they'll end up looking like, because they often change dramatically, but I bet you'll have a white one.

Keep posting pics, so we can see!
