FINALLY! Well, it was actually yesterday but a number of my birds just started laying so I wasn't 100% that it was a muscovy egg. But this morning, one of the girls was in the nest and when she left, another egg. I always forget how little they are at first.
They are 6 months old.

Thoughts as to whether I may get a clutch before winter?

Since you in a warmer climate you may, if your talking about a broody that might be up in the air with daylight waning now. But you never know. Mine didn't lay for close to a month and have just started back up to be through for good usually Oct. So I know I'll not have another broody till next spring.

Thanks Miss Lydia. I'm hoping I may get a broody before spring.
You just may since your in a warmer climate.

Thanks Miss Lydia. I am hoping. I would really like some ducklings to grow out. I wish I could see the future since someone has week olds on craigslist right now (8 for $25!!). And, while I don't want to raise ducklings, I would love some meat for the freezer.

What a price, and since your raising for meat they would be around that long.

I just looked again and now there is an ad for 8 week olds for $3 each! My husband would shoot me. I'll have to try to sweet talk him into it. Only 1 more month of feeding.
