Got our first 2 eggs today!

e We are first time chicken parents. We got our first 2 eggs this morning. Small light beige in color eggs. My hubby thinks they are from our Silver Laced Bantam Cochins. One was laid in the run and the other in the roost. We have chicken wire under the roost and that was were we found the second egg. The egg in the running hubby didnt get to quick enough and the Barred Rocks started eating it.

CONGRATS!!!! We are first time chicken owners to and our babies are only 15 weeks old so we are still waiting!!

Congratulations!!! Mine just layed a couple of days ago too! I put round/oval rocks in the nesting boxes on top of the bedding. The first egg was laid in the boxes, so thats good. At this moment, the same Hen (as of a couple days ago!) is laying. here are some pic's of the first egg layed
