Found our first egg today in the run under the ladder to the coop. I put some golf balls in the nests to see if this will help get them started laying in the nest. I have 19 hens and 2 roos. Not sure which one the egg belongs to. I have 5 Red Stars, 2 Black Austrolorps, 8 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Partridge Rock, 2 RIR and 1 Silver Spangled Hamburg. The egg is lt brown w/ little white specks on it. Little bitty egg, but it is our first. I just may have it for breakfast tomorrow.
