Got the poo scared outta me..

Ok so I have just moved into my first place alone.. Well not technically alone I have my two kids .. So we rented an apartment last friday.. Well every thing has been fine, until last night..

My boys were staying with their Nana last night, so I could see the new Harry Potter movie.. I get home at about 11pm and do my normal walk thru locking all doors and windows.. ( Did I mention I've NEVER lived alone or in Town) .. Everything seems normal so off to bed for me.. Well at about 4:30 am I et woke up by a huge thunder clap and me being nosy wanted to see how bad the storm was.. So I go into the living room to look out the patio doors come around the corner and my patio door is standing wide OPEN....

Now I know I checked that door, it had been locked all day and I hadnt even opened it.. So now I am wondering what the heck happened?? Did someone pick the lock? Did I just miss it, but then how didnt I notice it when I closed the blinds on that same door.... Kinda freaked out here... Hoping my sister or nephews mayb e left something at my house and stopped by to get it and didnt want to wake me ... Dont know but know I will checking all night now and installing a security latch on that door TONIGHT....

I would be a little nervous too. Maybe the latch didn't catch and the strong wind blew it open. I would def put a different latch on it for peace of mind.

I love to read Ann Rule. She writes true crime novels. I had just finished reading the one about the Serial killer Ted Bundy. I couldn't sleep for a week! Every noise freaked me out and I would have dreams that there was a man standing in my room!

I am sure as you get used to the new noises that come with every different home you will be fine!

I am hoping so Its a deadbolt so it freaked me out...,. Yeah the new sounds are odd

The first night I checked on my kids like ten times.. Poor guys probably thought I was nuts..

I think I would make a Home Depot run and get a dowel to put in the channel, can't open it with that in place!
