My brand new 1588 just went crazy. It is only a couple months old and this is the second batch. With chicks just pipping the temp setting spiked to 103 and won't let me turn it down! Has this ever happened to anyone else? Any fix for this? I have the water trays full because it is hatching time so the humidity is higher. I am assuming that is what broke it but if you can't fill the trays then you can't use it to hatch eggs. The humidity reading from my probe is only 58%. It is acting like the up button is stuck because if I hold the down arrow it changes to Celsius. It also doesn't cycle to the actual temp or humidity, just stays stuck saying 103! My eggs are almost certainly lost and the ones I had waiting to go in after will be lost as well if there is no easy fix! Really bummed, I thought I was upgrading from my little giant but apparently not!

Nobody has ever had this with the 1588? I don't know what to do! I have he lid propped open but that is making the humidity super low!

Can't really advise you. I have 3 of them, two with auto-turners and one without for lockdown. The lockdown was has the trays full of water for the extra humidity and temps and humidity are perfect on all.

I would assume the temp and humidity readings are off if the thing has gone wacky. Unless you get another thermometer in there and a hydrometer, you will be guessing and I would just close it up and see what hatches. Maybe you can unplug it for a few minutes and and see if the electronics will reset?

I had both a temp and humidity probe in it and it truly was at its max setting of 103. It was stuck at this for 24 hours and it only went back to normal after running it totally dry for hours. I was happy with these before but now caution against them! There was no warning, it just turned itself up from 99.8 to 103 and remained stuck that way until all the moisture was gone.

I had two chicks hatch out, had to help both of them. Opened the eggs and found a lot is dead chicks. 2 months of perfect performance and all of the sudden it is 103. I won't trust these again for lockdown with higher humidity.
