Okay, maybe this thread will be viewed or maybe it wont, but I need a space to just vent some feelings. So I've recently graduated with my bachelor's in psych (summa cum Laude 😊). And well it's been a rollercoaster this last semester. Stressed is an understatement. The semester was a piece of cake, but life on the other hand. I was diagnosed T1D in February and by the end of the semester my hair was falling out in clumps. And still is 😅.

So going back to starting LR, I thought I wanted to go into the medical field. Started out in pre med (essentially bio) and did great but I didn't neccesarily feel like medicine was where my heart was. Being liberal arts I switched majors after a course in psych and loved it. Thought I wanted to get out work in social work and later get my MSW and maybe an LCSW. I'm always one to plan way out lol.

Well fast forward to covid, I've been so stressed almost like I did when I switched majors. Like what i planned out just wasnt quite right. (Granted this is May 1st, I graduated May 8th). Well I'm talking to my GP/ boss and hes pushing and talking about looking into public health programs. Okay I typically brush this off, like yeah yeah whatever. But this time I didnt. I went started researching and found my university offers a public health masters. Okay score, and applying for summer 2020 closes May 4th.....mmm okay, and GRE is waived for covid, okay sounds great. Long and the short I completed orientation for the program today and I'm registered for classes that start Tuesday!

And I'm kinda feeling like I'm on the right track here, I mean when I was in middle school I read the Hot Zone. Ya know people crashing with Ebola and Marburg? Yeah I loved the book because I'm weird lmao. Always dreamed of being a virologist for the CDC 😂. Well long labs the first 2 years proved ehhhh maybe not. But then I started thinking the area of the book I liked so much was the epidemiological side of things. I mean hello, not medicine, not chem/bio lab but public health. Not saying I'll ever be cool enough to be a CDC badass that works on ebola 😂, but a girl can dream lol. It just kinda seems like for the first time in a while I'm at least in the right direction.

Wishing you best in the choices you make. Keep your head up high and always have a positive outlook. I have 4 children that completed, and graduated from Universities. All 4 are successful. You can say that I am most certainly proud of them.
Even though I do not even know you,,, I am proud you are making the educational choice. :thumbsup
Take care of that T1D:hugs
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

I decided to switch majors and then choose one of the public health programs. I just want to make sure I'm on the right track and in the right direction with my essay dune research lab and courses I'm taking up.

Hi,
Hope you're doing well. What have you been up to these days?
As for the educational choice. I'm pursuing my Master's in Poultry Science at Texas A&M University and I'm proud I made this choice.
Keep up and follow your dreams!

Warmly,
Regan
