grasshopper football

Anyone taking time to observe chicks playing chase with larger insect prey such as grasshoppers? Or fledgling indigo buntings? My chicks invest considerable effort capturing larger grasshoppers such adult Carolina grasshoppers.

My girls do this and I find it hysterical. Most of the time they catch them too!

Chicken rugby...

Mine are making catches, including the young songbirds. Then they do the rugby thing. Must be import in building up physical capacity of growing chicks.
