green bell peppers

Are green bell peppers o.k. for chickens to eat? Will the eggs taste bad? My son through a bell pepper in the girls' run and I've notice the girls have pecked at it.

They are fine for the chickens. My birds ate a whole mess of bell peppers and chiles this summer. I didn't notice any difference in their eggs.
