In the Brooder
Hi I recently was surprised by my husband with a few chicks from our local feed store as a birthday present this year. I am so excited about it. We have dove in head first. I have always wanted them and with our new house having an a great sized yard it was time! I have a a lot....Chicken math i have learned is a real thing! Once I got my first few, I became addicted and we started on the coop, and then came more chicks
I have about 22 I think. I have a few Black Australorps, Golden Laced Wyandottes, Easter eggers, one Rhode Island Red, one New Hampshire Red hen and rooster, Speckled Sussex, a Columbian Wyandotte (I had three, but sadly 2 didn't make it), an Americauna, Plymouth Rock, Bluebell, and a Buff Orpington, along with a few others thanks to a mix up from the hatchery I ordered them from I am not sure what they are....I am learning to garden and I have a large family and my husband and I are thrilled about this new opportunity we have to teach our children how to grow and harvest their own food, to appreciate where things come from and the time it takes to collect them.

We are glad you joined our flock!
