Do high percent greens develop short trains at 2 yrs. I have six 2yr old Spaulding peafowl and while my 2yr old pieds, purples, and whites have 3 ft tails the Spaulding show nothing the odds of all six out of six eggs I hatched being female seems rare.

Post some photos of them and we can tell you if you have all hens or peacocks and hens

My coming 2 spalding has a smaller train than my coming 2 White and coming 2 Opal. I have heard the greens mature more slowly, so it would follow that perhaps spaldings share that trait. Also early or late season hatch seems to affect it. My White who hatched in May has a 3' train, the spalding and Opal do not have near that length, but the Opal is a little longer than the Spalding( July hatches). However my spalding does have a couple eye feathers in his little train, so no need to guess on gender.

If these were IB I would say all female. Only one that looks different is 3rd picture down and it has been lowest in pecking order since 3months old. All the others are nearly carbon copies of each other.

I think it is all hens. The third one might have a bit of barring on the wings, but I think that is just the green blood showing. The neck feathers have that edging that crème peahens have and the face has brown. If it were a male the back saddle feathers would be green by now.

I agree........6 Hens, considering the odds of that, you should go buy a lottery ticket!
