I was prepping several pumpkins for baking/pureeing/freezing today and one of them is a little green around the rind. I was wondering....could I give the whole thing to my chickens? Is it okay to feed an unripe pumpkin to my chickens?

I fed one earlier today. Split it in half and threw them in with my 2 ducks and 5 hens. Later on all that was left was the rind.

I haven't had a bit of pumpkin last longer than 10 days with only two hens in the run. My hens LOVE them. I just crack it open and they obliterate it in a matter of days. Both they've destroyed have been between volleyball and basketball sized.
