Hi All:

We all know the risk of straight run... could get lots of boys or lots of girls... luck of the draw... BUT we know on average the sex ration will be close to 50:50...

So, before I place second order... since my first was not so lucky let me ask folks...

How many boys an girls have you gotten from Greenfire on straight run chick orders... i'm going to tally them up to see if we get close to 50:50 or if boys or girls win... breed is unimportant.

If you can't recall exactly an education guess is fine since educated guesses should also be randomly off with regard to sex as well.

Also, no special reason I picked Greenfire... except that's where I ordered and so it is as good a place to start as any.

Thx

Unlike multiple birth animals where the Punnet square is a good guideline for simple genetics each chicken egg fertilized is an event independent of the previous event and the next egg fertilized. It is only in the loooooong run does everything begin to even out.

Greenfires stock is not all that cheap. If you have concerns about your results they should be addressed to them directly. From your thread it appears your looking for statistical results to prove/disprove your chicks were not randomly selected. I dunno but that how it reads to me.

What?
Just like multiple birth animals chickens are either male or female. And just like multiple birth animals each one gets the same chances of being male or female. And just like multiple birth animals each egg is fertilized one at a time.
There's no difference its all chance.
