The following link is to the proposed ordinance for Greenville County, SC. There is currently no restriction on fowl. The current ordinance simply defines fowl.

Take a look, if you will, and comment for anything that needs to be brought up. This has only now (7/26/2012) started the process of being read three times.

The screening restriction is for 6 feet of fence, berm, or evergreen vegetation to block the view.

There is no mention of grandfathering existing structures. I am not sure about retroactive building permits, but we will have to see.

We're thinking about moving to Piedmont, SC. We're buying land and having a house built on site. We will live off of hwy 25. It's in the country sort of. The people across the street has lots of acres (maybe a few horses and/or cows..haven't really seen them out there). But if you go down our street, there is a sub-division. Are we allowed to have chickens there?

I'm doing some research on it. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
