No, not new. Got my first chickens several years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 40-50 currently. I am trying to sell some too, even though I know I will never sell faster than I hatch LOL
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have quite a few, but among my favorites are Welsummers and sexlinks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like the involvement required to keep them, and of course, their eggs too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Reading, taking care of livestock, gardening, etc.
6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Other than chickens, I have kept quail. Decided to get rid of them a while ago though, they just aren't my kind of bird. I also have a dog who loves to tag along for anything livestock related, as well as pigs and goats. I grew up with animals and my dad has always been fond of them too. Now that I am older, I still see the aftermaths of his influence. My mom isn't big on animals, but she has always been supportive.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been lurking for a while now and decided to make an official account. Have read a lot of interesting discussion threads and figured I didn't want to miss in on the fun
