I don’t have any chickens, but I do have ducks! I got my first two Peking ducklings about a year ago hoping to raise them for egg production. Not having much luck. I now have 8 ducks. 3 Peking drakes, 1mallard drake, 2 moskovy drakes, and two moskovy ducks. I’d love to raise pastured ducks for egg production on a sustainable farm. I enjoy lots of types of critters and currently have cattle, a horse, cats, a dog and ducks on my family’s farm with pigs due to arrive in a week or so. I just found out about BYC and was hoping someone here could give me some insight into Muscovy cross hinnies egg production.

I’ll post my full questions separately
Duck folks keep your eye out for it. I can use all the help I can get!

Hello and welcome to BYC. I hope that you enjoy your time here.

This is a useful link of “How to” BYC guides to take a look at announcements-feedback-issues-guides.3. I’d suggest including your location using the guide in the link. You can use this link to contact members in your area - Find your State's thread.

Best wishes

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
If you want duck eggs, you're going to need to cull most of the drakes and get some hens.

I currently have the non Muscovy drakes separated from the Muscovy drakes and ducks allowing them to breed normally got my first egg last night!
At their previous home the ducks sat the eggs and got lots of ducklings but none of them made it to adulthood due to predation
Going to raise this years ducklings and get more ducks and drakes eat most of the drakes but keep the ducks for egg production next year

More details see
Muscovy cross hinnies, please!
