Greetings fellow chicken keepers

I've been keeping chickens for 26 years. Started with Bantees on a rural Isl off the SC coast near Beaufort. Then moved to full sized hens when I moved back to town on an island suburb of Savannah in 1996. I began a face book page for Savannah Backyard Chickens in conjunction with Savannah's first Coop Tour I conceived 5 years ago and its going strong still- from one trolley that first year to 3 this past year! Now I've "bought the farm" of my dreams outside Asheville NC, and am looking for chicken community there as well. I hope to move into more livestock like quail and goats for starters, and trout ponds eventually- not to mention fruit trees and gardens. Glad to find this online community. will be lurking around for a bit, but trying not to spend too much time online... you how it is!

Welcome to my part of the country. I pm you yesterday. I look forward to meeting you when you come back up from the warmer weather...lol.

I forgot to tell you along with the many animals we have here on the farm, we also have our own fruit trees, grapes, raspberries, & have large gardens where I can all of our food. We also grow & make our own feed for our animals, I am excited for you to come & visit.
