Hello

I’m glad to be here. I’ve been keeping chickens for a year and half. I have a flock of 16 right now, 15 hens and 1 rooster. Mostly I have Light and Dark Brahmas. I also have a few Black Langshans and Blue Laced Wyandottes. My single rooster is a Blue Laced Wyandotte and what a good rooster he is!

I run a historic farmstay where my guests can come and experience life circa 1910! I offer historic dinner experiences, classes and overnight accommodations B&B style. I try to keep all things and creatures at my home to that time period. I also raise pigs seasonally and someday hope to get a milk cow. Sigh, that is a big dream.

I’m glad to be on this forum as I am hoping to gain some helpful knowledge and maybe share a bit about my experiences. I hope to add some Indian Runners to my place and have lots of questions! I'm not even sure where to post my duck questions.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to wonderful conversations!
Susan Odom

and just for a fun a recent picture of a few of my birds

Look for the Ducks section under the Other Backyard Poultry section of the Forum. Hope you come by the Michigan thread, look in the Where are You - Where am I section in the Social section

Have you considered a dairy goat? Much easier to keep than cows.
