Hello all,
I'm very happy to be a new member of BackYardChickens! My husband and I recently got 14 chicks to add to our two hens we acquired from a friend to add to our family "funny farm"! We were lucky to get a few adult hens from a friend to start out and learn the ways of being a chicken owner (what an experience so far!). We decided to (however grandiose) add a large group of chicks to our family, and have learned so many amazing and life saving information! If you had asked me two months ago what pasty butt was and if I knew I would be blotting baby chickens hiney's with cotton balls soaked in warm water I would have thought you were nuts! So I just wanted to send out a very big past and future thank you to everyone here for your support and contributions to this site! You are amazing folks, and we look forward to growing and sharing our stories with you all!
