Greetings from Alabama!

Hi new friends! My husband and I just moved from a larger east central Alabama city to a nearby smaller town. We are excited to have a couple acres of land and some space to have a small backyard egg-laying flock! We are first-time chick parents, and just got 4 ISA Brown chicks yesterday. I've done a good amount of reading up on chickens - from AL Cooperative Extension (and about 3 other state Extension Systems) articles, to published university research, to buying several books on backyard chickens, to youtube videos, to "The Chicken Chick" and other blogs, to asking friends and co-workers with chickens... I figured it was time to just start! I am looking forward to getting to know others in the group and learning from some long-time backyard flock experts!
