Hello everyone, my name is David, Im from Chicago, Illinois. I recently acquired a hen and rooster from a family friend.

I've been running to this site for the last 3 weeks for all kinds of info on raising chickens. This site has been a tremendous help. So I decided to sign up for the group. Attached is a pic of my chickens. Any idea what breed they may be??

Hi, David, welcome to BYC. The hen is a red sex link, and the rooster may be a black copper maran.

Agree with Sourland, he really knows his stuff. Beautiful roo. I lived in Chicago for the first 22 years of my life and never knew they allowed chickens. Maybe they didn't way back when, I am 68.
