Welcome to BYC (again). ) Glad you decided to join our flock. You've made some excellent choices in chicks. Black Stars (MMs label for Black Sex Links) are my favorite hens; hardy and friendly egg laying machines. I've raised them for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids), and they have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed. I've also raised them for years, and they are extremely hardy, calm and gentle (my children, and now my granddaughter, made lap pets of them), and excellent layers of large, brown eggs. I've ordered chicks from Murray McMurray on several occasions and have been happy with their birds and service. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
