Hello Everyone! I am from Paducah, KY. I recently started a hobby chicken farm. For the past two or three years we have dabbled with a couple hens, a rooster or two; so this past spring i decided I was going all the way with this chicken farm and I have not regretted it at all (so far). I had a red sexlink, rooster but forget his breed but he is a handsome thing and he knows it. Also had leghorn hens and roosters. hubbys idea you can never have too many roosters and what survives will survive; he was helping out a friend that had way too many roosters the previous spring. Needless to say they were crazy and a little mean and it didn't take long for our lab/beagle mix dogs and horse to get rid of them. LOL. So my ladies I have are red sex links, amber link, cochins, welsummers, tetra tints, and the latest added are araucanas and golden sex links. A total of 17 fine ladies waiting for the day to be released from their cage so they can roam with the other five already roaming our land. They are so much fun to watch, play with and pet. I never knew they could be friendly enough that you can pick them up and rub their soft feathers. They love their afternoon snack of bread, they just go crazy. I did mention I am married to my husband of 27 years, we have one daughter still living and one deceased. I don't work anymore just stay at home and enjoy my chickens, horses, dogs and cats. I hope we don't decide to start another hobby any time soon. Thanks for letting me ramble on and am looking forward to more discussions with everyone. God Bless.
