I just started incubating 8 Silkies (shipped next day...hoping for the best), 8 Buff Brahmas that a friend gave me and 4 Cochins that a friend gave me (they are pretty iffy whether the hen and rooster are doing much so we shall see). Chickens are new to me and I am so excited!

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided join our flock. The first breed I ever had (about 50 years ago) were Brahmas, and they were gentle giants. Cochins are also a very calm and gentle breed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Brahmas and Cochins.

P.S. I also forgot add "good luck with your Silkies." I used to raise Black Silkies and they were adorable, sweet, gentle, friendly, and funny little birds. :o)

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Enjoy your brahmas and cochins. Good luck incubating the silkies. All of those breeds are so friendly! I just love their personalties and fluffy looks.

Good luck to you and feel free to ask any questions about incubating or anything else.
