Hi all! I live in Cape Town, South Africa and a month ago I took in an orphaned 1-day old chick to foster. Needless to say I've grown very attached to my Princess PiriPiri and we are now moving to a flat with a garden.

I look forward to learning more about chickens as this is my first one.
 
Hello and welcome from Ohio....so glad you joined BYC. What a cute avatar ! Now since you are moving you may as well get a few more adorable babies to go with Princess PiriPiri. And then we would love more pics please :)

I used to live in SA myself. Cape Town's amazing! If I ever go live in SA again, that's where I want to be.

See if you can find your chick a buddy to keep her company. Chickens are such social creatures, she will love a chicken buddy.
 
I would love to get her a friend but only once we move to a new place in April. I don't think I can deal with double the chicken poo. She free-ranges our whole flat so it's constant clean-ups lol The cats will hate me even more when there are 2 but they will have to deal with it!
