Have had chickens for a few years, but this is the first year we have had a rooster, it adopted us from a garden a few doors away. I guess he fell in love, anyway his lady love hatched one single chick, a gorgeous little boy who is now 5 weeks old and weighs 100g, having started out at 19g. Mum did her duty to hatch him then didn't want to know.
Anyway he is thriving in our windy climate although spends most of the tome indoors yet. It's a lovely place to raise poultry as there are no foxes to do the worst, just the odd feral cat who is rapidly dispatched if caught.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join us here! Great to hear your chick is coming on well :)

Enjoy your time here on BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
Thank you, yes am surprised to be honest as being so tiny was told he was unlikely to survive on his own. Rock bantams parents, mum incredibly tiny
