Hi all,
Since I've been lurking round here for a couple of weeks now, I thought it was time to sign up and say hello and thank you. This place seems to be a real haven of information and sharing, and it is clear that a lot of effort goes into its smooth running.
I'm mostly a newbie. I've done a lot of chook-sitting over the years (think house sitting, but for chickens) and even raised a batch of chicks who all kindly turned out to be roosters, and had to be rehomed! But this is the first time I've kept my very own girls, and now I'm hooked, and spending most of my evenings the last couple of weeks googling chickeny things.
I currently have one RIR (Big Red Bertha), one barred rock (Henny Penny), and one 'lorp (Little Black Bess), and a couple of silkies temporarily, but I'm already daydreaming of Dorkings and others, so who knows.
Other than that we have two short people (nearly 5 and nearly 2), two alpacas, and less happily, mice, again. Must do something about that.
