This forum has been such a great resource. I just want to say how much I appreciate everyone's input and their enthusiasm. I started our flock in March, but I've been using this site to research things like coop dimensions and breed types since the very beginning of the year.
I put off signing up for an account here because I never really had to ask any of my questions firsthand. I could just search the forums and find tons of responses where others had asked similar questions.
We've got 4 silver-laced wyandotte hens and two welsh harlequin ducks--one male and one female. My initial plan was to put the ducks on our pond, which is within walking distance, but not visible, from our house. But we liked our ducks so much we wanted to keep them around in the yard. So we are attempting to raise the ducks and chickens together in harmony. We have never had birds before. It has been quite an experience so far, but this forum has definitely made the experience much easier.
