Good Morning (or evening, whatever it is for you) My name is Anna, and I haven't always been lucky enough to live in an area where I could have chickens. I'm not sure what to say, so I'm shamelessly stealing the questions template. I've browsed the forums for a lot of information already, and finally decided to break down today and join. Your posts have been very helpful to me.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am very new to chickens. I'm still waiting for my first ones to arrive (Friday) and hope that I'm ready for this.

(2/3) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 15 ordered. 5 White Leghorns, 5 Silver Pheonix, and 5 Mottled Houdans (sp?) They're straight run, so everyone please cross your fingers for me that I don't end up with 10 (or more) little boys.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was looking for coop designs on Yahoo, and came across the page. I don't remember if it was directly off Yahoo, or off of another page..

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I used to ride horses, that was before, when I had a disposable income and had to become a responsible adult, now I have to spend my money on frivolous things like food and rent. I don't really have time for many hobbies anymore. I'm a gamer, a halfway gardener (I kind of lose interest about midway into the summer) and a wannabe lottery winner, so far, my dream of winning the mega millions and retiring by the age of 30 is not panning out. They're not hobbies, but I spend my time working, going to school, and taking care of children- softskinned, feathered and furry.

I guess you could consider humor and sarcasm hobbies. Quite frequently I rely on them to get me through the day.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a husband and two daughters, 4 and almost 2, a couple cockatoos and a quaker parakeet, two miniature poodles, and a fish tank. No other outside animals. Yet.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here.

Welcome to being an official BYC addict! I'm on Cape Cod, about as far away from the PN as you can get.

Welcome Anna! Growing up isn't all it's cracked up to be is it??? lol And yes, in my mind sarcasm should be considered a hobby...it keeps us sane.

Not too far North. I'm between Everett and Lake Stevens myself.

Just perusing the message boards has already given me so many new ideas, my chicks will be here in two days, I'm so excited!
