Hello, happy to join this forum. We have five young hens--two Buff Orpingtons, two Laced Wyandottes, and a Barred Rock. Looking forward to learning a lot here, and to the day we start getting eggs!

Welcome! You've come to the right place to find helpful information and guidance. I couldn't have gotten through my first year without this site. I follow a few bloggers and bought several books but seems that all too often when you are looking for help with an issue, after a nice long description then you read "they should be seen by a vet..." HA! If only it were that easy for everyone to find a chicken vet. Prevention is the key so reading about potential issues is of value but you can't always prevent something from happening. Here, you will find good do-it-yourself information about what works and what didn't. It may take some time digging through the forums but you'll find that gem you are looking for. Searching the Articles section is also valuable. I appreciate the time these folks took to share their experience. Sounds like you have a lovely flock. Enjoy!

We are glad you joined our flock.
This video should help your find your way around.
A great place to start is in the Learning Center in the Articles section.
