Greetings!

Welcome. I would like to see pictures as well. We like pictures here.
Okay, for those asking for pictures, here we go. Pictures attached of my very busy flock, including my two accidental cockerels. I'm going to have some difficult decisions to make regarding them in the future.

Good work getting chicken math out of the way first thing! You've got some beautiful breeds for your first flock. Congrats that your babies are friendly enough to roost on your head!

If you need someone who's too anxious and tends to "overthink things" with you, I can assure you I am an expert! I once treated a whole coop for cocci because I thought I saw what I thought was blood in their stools. Later, I realized it was just the remains of cherry tomatoes I had given them as treats.

Welcome to BYC; there are plenty of folks here willing and able to help you on your chicken journey!

This definitely sounds like something I would do. 😅
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. The number of times I checked these birds in the middle of the night because I was worried they were too cold... Or conversely going to overheat...

As for friendly, its primarily the australorps, and sussexes that are hopping up on me. The wyandottes live up to their reputation of being a bit standoffish, though not unfriendly. They all hate when I try to pick them up though, probably because I haven't done that much.

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
