Just a bit of terminology clarification...a cockerel is a young rooster and a pullet is a young hen.

So sorry about the loss of your chicks. That is so sad. Glad you have more, though, and they're safe!

If you want to make them a larger pen sometime, most of us would use 1/2" hardware cloth as most things can't get through that.
