I will house CX in a tractor on grass with commercial feed and move tractor 1-2x a day. Will they will need grit or get what they need from the land? want to know what others practice is? tia

I think they should get what they need from the land (I'm assuming - since I didn't put out grit for mine and haven't heard others speak of it much). However, it doesn't ever hurt to put out an extra dish of grit for them.

But now you have me thinking...

It's funny, I've never really heard this talked about, but it would really make sense to put grit out for them. In my experience, my CX mostly ate the feed and just chomped on the grass/bugs here and there. They weren't great foragers, or at least they didn't prefer it over the feed. But the fact that they eat anything at all besides the feed makes me feel like I should have been putting grit out. So next time I have a batch of CX, I'll have grit out for them. Your question has convinced me lol.
