I have 3 and a half week old ducklings, they are looking good and we are seeing signs of white feathers. Would they benefit from grit at this stage? I don’t particularly know what grit is supposed to do, they are very good at eating and I have begun mixing small amounts of duck grower into their crumb. They are very cheeky, constantly looking for other things to peck at?

If they are only eating a ration they don't need grit yet. Grit is used in the gizzard to help grind up hard grains.

Grit helps birds digest, since they can’t really chew to break food down. If they’re eating anything other than their feed, like grass or treats, you’ll want to have grit available for them. Make sure you have grit appropriately sized for their age too.
