Grit to chicks?

I have read here that you can give your young chicks grit to help them digest treats and things, but at what age can your chicks eat the same size grit as the hens get?

I have a couple of 8 week olds. Can they have the same grit I give my adult hens?

6 weeks you can shift them to the same grit your giving your older birds
