Grit ?

Hard grit? (as opposed to soft oyster-shell)

I don't have any experience with penning mine on pasture; they have access to the driveway and a pond with a pebble bottom, so I'm not certain how good ducks are at getting grit from a pasture. Also, I have no idea of your soil composition.

However, my opinion is: better safe than sorry. Grit's cheap, and it won't hurt anything, whereas a lack can hurt them badly.

Oyster shell is also needed for calcium , they will take it as they need it.

Grit is needed to aid in digestion, I wouldn’t chance they’ll find what they need ....it’s inexpensive to provide.
