Grit...

My ducks free range maybe a couple of hours each day.
Do they need grit?
If so, do I buy loose grit or will they be able to get some from the block?

If they are able to noodle around in the dirt, they are likely getting enough grit. I let my ducks forage outside and they don't need extra grit. In the winter if the soil is covered for more than a few days I sprinkle just a little chick grit in their food, or make sure they have free choice oyster shell (I have all girls so the oyster shell is fine).
