I said it was gross!!!!
Her rear has been like this for 2 year!!!!!! I tried to give her yogurt....no help. It only happens when she has to lay an egg. I wash her often. IS THERE A CURE????????PLEASE GIVE ME ANY ADVICE YOU HAVE!!!!!! I"M DESPERATE!!!!!!!!
Is that just feces I'm seeing or is that something that stays there, even when you wash it?
Her skin looks inflamed and painful and she looks like she might have a partial rectal prolapse going on. If it's been like that for 2 years, it is past fixing and she will continue to have feces on her skin continually.
If that is not feces but something growing, it could be fungus. I believe they call that vent gleet, which is a fungal infection. It could also be the cause of swelling and inflammation of her vent~as opposed to a prolapse~ as well.
Hard to tell exactly what is going on from the pic....feces or fungus?
If fungus, I'd apply NuStock to the area every 3 days until I see a change. Nustock is a good anti-fungal skin treatment that can help promote regrowth of hair after the fungus is gone and it also soothes the area with application.
If feces and she has a prolapse, I'd put her out of her misery. Rectal prolapse is painful and a source of potential infection, not to mention can hinder natural egg laying and could cause her to become egg bound.
The pic is an old one,,,,,,She does not have a prolapse and it is not that inflamed any more....I won't cull her unless she is in pain which she is not. she runs and plays with her buddies and acts as normal as can be,, It not a fungus. I clean about every 2 days and its not as bad as it used to be.... THANKS A TON THOUGH!!!!!!!!
