I have two 7 month old hens (Rhode Island Red & Wyandotte). We picked them up about 2 weeks ago. They are healthy and active, but have not started laying yet.
Also, they sleep on the ground in their covered run. Is this 'normal'? We have a roost but probably need to raise it and increase the spacing. Any thoughts on why they are choosing to sleep on ground?
