I just got a used incubator that is set up for quail eggs and have not incubated before. I haven't seen anyone offering grouse eggs? Is that not an option - are they only a wild raised bird? it would be nice to be able to raise and release them in our woods, if possible. thnx

It's not a matter of being hard to do it is just breeders can get more money for grouse pairs than eggs. And they are pretty uncommon in captivity so risking shipping eggs just isnt smart. I know of 2 breeders who breed Ruffed Grouse here in the U.S. if you would like the contacts I'm sure I can give them to you....The pairs are $400.00 usually and you have to also pay shipping or pick-up.

thanks for the info, but YIKES! sure are expensive. But I guess you would get a lot of hatching eggs from a pair over a few years.
