I have seen pictures of fodder sytems, but no details. I want to construct one. Does anyone have drawings for recycling water?

My simple set-up---I have a pump in the bottom "tote" pumps the water to the top trap and it free flows through the trays back to the bottom. I have to change the water every 2/3 days or atleast part of it. In the second pic I had cut a section out where the pepsi can is to feed the rabbits. The top pic is the top tray----where the water is pumped into the pvc pipe on the left--mainly sun flower seeds in it.

What are you using for trays, for the drainage holes in the trays, what grains are you growing? Any luck with oats? I've had the best luck and been most pleased with barley, wheat is second favorite.

Doesn't the water go bad/smelly quickly? I have a super small setup using plastic shoe boxes, but don't recycle it due to the smell.
I'm in Southern California, so the climate may make a difference.
