Growing pains?

Hi,

My ducklings are one week old today.
Fed on a mix of duck crumb, grit, mealworms, nutritional yeast, occasional green stuff i.e. peas.
Water has a multi-Vit supplement in it which has niacin and B vitamins.
Brooder floor is a towel which gets changed twice daily, mucky little things that they are. So they get plenty grip when they’re walking.

One seems to have a leg that is turning inwards, so when it walks it has a tendency to stand on its own foot. This doesn’t happen all the time but is mostly noticeable.

Is this just a growing thing and it’ll sort itself out? Here was me worrying about not getting them enough protein so their legs would bow…

This is the supplement they get in their water, thought this would be enough.

It looks like a good vitamin, but some ducklings just need an extra boost of Niacin. That is where Liquid B Complex comes in. It seems to get them over a niacin deficiency quicker than anything else. Try to feed it to the duckling over a tasty treat so it gets full dose,[not diluted in water] the info in the link will give you dose for the age of your duckling and info on niacin deficiency. Although it can be added to water, it is just not for the one with the problem. What you are seeing with the leg turning and stepping on it's own foot is usually a niacin deficiency.
