My beloved Dino that I got almost 12 weeks ago is getting so big now! He's living the good life as a companion animal and spends nearly all of his waking time with me both indoors and outdoors. I made a couple of posts here very early on when I had found him abandoned by himself and was trying to figure this all out.. I thought now might be time for a little update
He's completely weaned off of wet mash and seeks out food/water on his own (I struggled to get him to drink anything for the first several weeks of his life) and he's also finally started foraging and scratching up plants and bugs while outside! He doesn't really try to roost yet despite having access to an appropriately sized bar but I'm not too worried since he's gained so much strength and is behaving like a normal chicken now otherwise. Usually when it's time for bed he just gets cozy in a corner on the bedding in his pen. He sleeps in his indoor enclosure at night since he doesn't have any friends aside from me and I don't want to leave him alone all night where he can't see or hear me
The little guy is still making mostly baby noises with the occasional strange scratchy noise that sounds almost like a cluck.. Hoping to hear his adult voice coming in soon! I'm also not really sure of his sex just yet (he may very well actually be a hen..) but I've made a habit of referring to him as well.. Him.. So until we know for sure that's what we're going with lol
