Growing up with Chickens

I grew up with chickens until I was 10 and we moved away from our farmhouse. After owning our first home, we decided it was time to start our own flock! We have had as many as 8 chickens and 3 ducks, but we've had a number of animal attacks, and also decided to dispatch some ourselves (male ducks mostly). It's been quite an adventure and this website has helped with so many questions I've had about building the coop, chicken diseases (already dealt with vent gleet & fly strike), and just a feeling of general camaraderie!
