Grown chickens

There is a farmer in my area wanting to sell some rir. How much is a laying hen going for. I don't want to pay way to much for them. Thanks for any help.

it depends on the hen. RIR are very good layers (i have 2). i wouldnt pay more than 10-15 $ though. it also depends on the age i would only pay 5-10 $ for an old hen.

I would check craigslist to see how much hens are going for in your area. But it really depends on the kind of chicken, age, etc.

i sold hens yesterday and they went for 4 dollars a piece and they laid eggs almost or every single day but i agree that it depends on the breed
