I submit for consideration, Ms Green, my 14 week ish old barred rock. I am giving copious amounts of fresh clean water, some scratch (oat, corn, wheat, milo), IFA 24% game bird feed mixed with 18% layer mash (its personal pref to mix, I think a variety of textures prevents boredom), and a ferment mix of scratch and pellets on the regular with grit and oyster shell if they feel the need. I also give treats of peas, lettus, banannas, scrambled egg with shell, and whatever insects I find in the yard (mostly earwigs). Being a new chicken guy I'm worrying about growth and development. I know different hatcheries will throw different growth rate chickens so I was looking for a general spectrum go/no go on good progress :). Thanks for y'alls time!

What's the ratio of this mix??
Variety of textures is fine (tho the birds really don't care), but pellets mixed with mash might be an issue as they are probably eating more of the pellet and the mash is settling down below the pellets and less likely to be consumed.

The scratch and 'treats' may be reducing consumption of the vitamins/mineral/amino acids in the feeds.

She looks pretty good to me.

I do about 3 parts mash to one part pellet, it seems to stay well distributed.

Don't worry they are fine.

But they also have nutrition in them...

Active birds, bright eyes good signs... but you can weigh them too. Feathers do hide a lot. It is normal to have quite a wide variance in weight between birds, even of the same breed, but more so with different breeds...however, once I had one get bigger much faster...yep a rooster.
