Please help I have a baby black sex link chick that has a growth on it's neck. I know NOTHING about chickens and so ALL the help is appreciated. I have posted pics of the growth. Is this contagious? Should I keep the other animals away from it? Are my children at risk or even myself?
Thanks!!!

It looks like the "growth" may just be the chick's crop. The crop is an enlargement of the esophagus where food is stored until it can move onto the real stomach. The crop is usually located on the left side of a bird's neck. It gets bigger towards the evening, when the chicken eats more, and may be almost empty in the morning. How long has that lump been there?

I noticed the growth when we first got the chick almost 3 weeks ago. The vet said the same thing you did. Thank you so much for your response. I was worried that it could be something that would be harmful to my children and our other bird. :)
